Mammut
Background
Mammut, Swedish for Mastodon (or woolly mammoth), can trace it's roots back to 1862 when Kaspar Tanner lay it's first building blocks, with the craftmans ropery in Dintikon, near Lenzburg Switzerland. This ropery gained it's reputation quickly and developed the Swiss Army's ropes during this period.
Mammut now sells a huge range of specialist outdoor equipment, known for it's enduring properties - ideal for hiking, alpinism, climbing and high energy outdoor sports. Working with outdoor athletes and enthusiasts, Mammut has designed a range of clothing and outdoor gear that is perfectly suited to endure the best and worst conditions. Mammut can now be credited with it's exceptional high quality and on-going innovation in outdoor gear, especially baselayers and mountain trousers.
