It is exceptionally light (1.10 kg) and sturdy, being constructed from mid-weight fabrics. The aluminium stays in the back system allow the Fastpack 50 to support loads of 10-15 kg comfortably, and the close-fitting design of the back panel ensures good carrying stability. The seams on the main body and lid are either welded or taped, which means the Fastpack 50 is virtually waterproof and ideal for use in wet or wintry climates. (For technical reasons the seams attaching the back panel cannot be sealed, but these are largely protected from the weather by the wearer's own back.) Ski-holders at the base of each side can be combined with the side-compression system to carry skis securely.
