Is online payment secure?

Walk and Ramble operate a secure online shopping service. The website uses a 128 bit encryption, a secure server (SSL protocol) on https://www.secure-server-hosting.com/secutran/actinic.php, in addition to Firewall protection.

However, if any customers are still reluctant to purchase online, you can place your order online but give us the payment card information by fax or telephone. This facility is available as an option during 'Checkout' (access the drop-down menu when asked for 'payment method').  Alternatively, you can do everything by telephone, fax or mail.

What is your Walk and Ramble’s fraud prevention policy?

In brief, we automatically verify all UK customers’ details and may ask international customers to verify key details. 

Furthermore, to prevent fraud we reserve the right to only despatch goods to the address to which the payment card is registered.

Do I have to order online? 

If you do not wish to send us your payment card details online, you can send them by phone, fax or letter – please see the contact details. NB: Please do not send payment card details by e-mail because it is not secure.

We also accept payment by cheque. To pay by cheque select 'Payment Card Details Sent Separately', click the 'Next' button and this will display your order details. Please quote your order number when sending us your payment details. Cheques should be made payable to "Adventure Centre Ltd". Alternatively you can print out the mail order form and send it to us.

Will I receive acknowledgement of my orders via e-mail?

Acknowledgement receipts are automatically emailed to you once you have placed the order.   This will provide you with a summary of your order details.   

Can I pay for items by mail order?

Walk and Ramble would like to give the possibility to its customers to purchase and order any products by mail as an online alternative. It's easy, you just have to download the order form and return it back, fully completed, to the following address:

Can I pay for items over the phone?

We know that some people do not like shopping using the internet, so we have a team waiting to receive your order over the phone.  All you have to do is call the following number, and have your debit / credit card and delivery details ready to make your payment.  We will then despatch the goods as usual.

I am not sure what product is right for me, how can I get more advice?

It is our company policy to only employ people who are active in the outdoors. All of our staff regularly walk, climb, mountaineer, cycle (and the rest). We use test gear from manufactures to ensure we are completely up to date with our knowledge of all outdoor equipment. We do not operate call centres so by calling us on 01925 244 434 you will get straight through to experienced staff who are happy to help.

To help visually impaired users make full use of the Walk and Ramble website, we have included a text re-sizer at the top of the screen which makes the text larger and smaller, but please do not hesitate to call us if your require further assistance in using this website by calling 01925 244 434.
